You'll be our second designer, shaping a product used by thousands of small brand owners and marketers to create images and video with AI. These are people with taste and ambition but not Photoshop skills — they need to go from an idea to dozens of on-brand assets, fast.
The design challenges here are genuinely novel — you'll design for non-deterministic outputs, prompt-based workflows, and creative tools that didn't exist two years ago.
You will
- Prototype AI interactions that can't be wireframed — streaming outputs, prompt iteration, model controls
- Own onboarding and activation flows that directly impact trial-to-paid conversion
- Write the words too — microcopy, empty states, tooltips, error messages. There's no content designer
- Design features end-to-end — from exploration to shipped product
- Work directly with 5 engineers and the CEO, who drives product priorities — there's no PM layer, no design manager
You
- You've designed product for a SaaS or consumer product — ideally creative tools or AI-native products
- You're genuinely curious about generative AI and excited to design for it
- You're self-directed — you set your own quality bar and work directly with engineers and the other designer
- You think about conversion and activation, not just aesthetics
- You're uncomfortable with unshipped work sitting in Figma. You'd rather ship something real today than present something polished next week
The setup
You'll work alongside Henrik – our current designer. How you split the work — by product area, by project, by type of work — is something you'll figure out together.
In your first
Week
- Use the product extensively as a customer would — understand what works, what's confusing, what's missing
- Meet the team and understand how design and engineering work together today
